San Antonio – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg has reported 13 new COVID-19 deaths in Bexar County, for a total of 4,162 deaths since the pandemic began.

The mayor also pointed out that there were less than 1,000 hospitalizations, there are currently 960, 330 ICU patients and 212 ventilators. According to Nirenberg, twenty-two children are being treated for COVID-19 at a local hospital.

The first vaccinations were 1,458,525 and 1,191,883 were fully vaccinated.

Baseball County Commissioner Justin Rodriguez said the county plans to begin distributing booster shots sometime next week.

Nirenberg encouraged people, especially those with O blood, to donate blood to meet local demands.
