The Fire Brigade Makes a Big Profit Against the Flames of Southern California

Texas News Today

Santa Barbara, California Officials said on Sunday that fire brigades have made great progress overnight against a week-long wildfire in the coastal mountains of Southern California.

More than 1,600 firefighters were fighting the flames from the Santa Ynez Mountains west of Santa Barbara on land and in the air. They were able to stop the move, and federal officials said 78% were involved in the flames.

The Alisal Fire began last Monday and burned about 27 square miles (69 square kilometers). It threatens about 400 buildings.

A 11/2-acre (0.6 ha) fire that ignited outside the suppression line in the north-west corner of the fire, a firefighter immediately used a bulldozer and handlines on the ground and extinguished the flame with water from the air . I was absorbed in. There were few hotspots left on Sunday and fire tenders were focused on tightening control.

Temperatures were expected to drop on Sunday, but winds of up to 20 mph (32 kph) were expected in the area.

The fire broke out last week during strong winds and spread rapidly across the surface of mountains, jumping from highways and railroads down to the beach. Since then, firefighting weather has improved significantly, allowing planes and helicopters to attack fires with delay agents and water.

According to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, California wildfires have burned nearly 3,900 square miles (10,101 square kilometers) this year, destroying more than 3,600 homes, businesses and other structures.

Historical droughts in the western United States have been linked to climate change, making it difficult to fight wildfires. It killed millions of trees in California alone. Climate change over the past three decades has made the West hotter and drier, more extreme weather, and more frequent and devastating wildfires, scientists say.
