Officials said three people were shot dead and injured after discussing gifts at a baby shower in western Pennsylvania.
Police in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, about 17 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, said they had responded to a call after 6 p.m. Saturday that the Kinlock Fire Department had an active shooter. When officers reached the spot, they found the suspect and arrested him without incident.
“According to the initial investigation, the family’s allegations began and materialized, and the suspect presented a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and opened fire,” Lower Barrel Police Chief John Mahefka told a news briefing.
Mr Marhevka said the debate was about gifts at the baby shower.
A 23-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old youth were injured, officials said. Three victims were taken to a local hospital, and Marhefka said the injury was not life-threatening.
Tribune-Live is 25-year-old Isiah J. The suspect, who reported as Hampton, was said to be the father of a bathed baby.
According to Tribune-Live, her pregnant father, Isiah J. Hampton 25 was arrested and is currently lodged in the Westmoreland County Jail. According to court records, he has been charged with four felony assaults and one with reckless endangerment.
Tribune-Live also had a physical discussion with the child’s mother about Hampton taking gifts from the shower and reported that the shooting took place after people tried to intervene.
