San Antonio —According to Bexar County Jail records, a man was arrested on the North Side for robbing a Family Dollar and kicking an employee by the throat.

According to records, 37-year-old Guadalupe Sanpayo was charged with robbery after the August 16 incident.

Police in San Antonio said the suspect stepped into a store on Blanco Road, the 5200 block, not far from Jackson Keller Road, and grabbed an object from a shelf.

When he left the shop without paying the goods, an employee approached him and tried to stop him.

The affidavit of the arrest warrant said that some of the luggage had fallen to the ground, and when an employee arrived to collect the goods, Sanpayo kicked him in the throat.

Sanpayo was arrested on Thursday after police received anonymous information.

According to prison records, Sanpayo was also accused of impersonating a civil servant.
