Plantersville, Texas (AP) – A 3-year-old Texas boy missing for four days was found alive in the woods on Saturday and appeared healthy, officials said.
According to Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell, Christopher Ramirez was traced on the advice of the public and taken to hospital for evaluation. It is not yet clear how the child strayed and survived while playing with the family dog at the Family Home yard in southeast Texas.
“He drinks a lot of water, but he’s fine,” Sowell said. “He is alive, laughing, biting, crying. His mother is crying. He is fine.”
The child disappeared Wednesday afternoon from a garden near the Planters building, about 60 miles (100 km) northwest of Houston. Sowell said he was not found far from where officers were searching.
“To be honest, we were praying, four-wheel drive, and overdriving because there was nothing else,” Savell said. “There was nothing else.”
