KYV (Reuters) – Ukrainian police said on Monday they hacked more than 100 foreign businesses and arrested a 25-year-old man who caused more than $150 million in damages.

According to a police statement, unidentified hackers used phishing attacks and hijacked software to allow remote access to their computers. He said the victims included “a world-renowned energy and tourism company”.

The hacker was arrested with the help of law enforcement officers in the United States, France, Europol and Interpol.

The police checked the houses of the respondent and his relatives.

“As a result, computer equipment, mobile phones, vehicles and more than $360,000 in cash were confiscated. In addition, the attacker’s cryptocurrency blocked $1.3 million,” police said.
