LG is the market leader in OLED TVs, but now the South Korean electronics giant is set to infuse that same love into its Mini LED lineup with the 2021 QNED TV series in Australia.
LG’s QNED range can be pre-ordered at major Australian retailers and is the pinnacle of LED/LCD products. Combining the latest Mini LED, Quantum Dots and NanoCell display technology, it produces stunning colors and exceptional contrast in a much more affordable package than OLEDs.
Mini LEDs, unlike OLEDs, replace self-illuminating pixels with traditional LED backlight systems, but LEDs occupy about 1/40th the place.
This means that manufacturers can reduce more dimming zones to achieve higher lighting accuracy, resulting in more economical contrast relatively close to OLED.
Price and stock position
LG’s QNED Mini LED TV lineup is led by the flagship QNED 998K TV available at about AU in 65-inch (AU$5,759), 75-inch (AU$7,799), and 86-inch (AU$10,799) models. goes. That’s $1,000 more. It is the same size and affordable as Samsung’s flagship NeoQ LED TV.
Next up is LG’s QNED 968K TV, which starts at AU$4,799 on the 65-inch model and peaks at AU$5,999 on the 75-inch model.
LG also offers the QNED91 4K TV for those who are happy with their commitment to 4K. Curiously, the 65-inch (AU$4,679) and 75-inch (AU$5,999) models of the QNED91 are roughly the same price as the 8K QNED96, so Panther doesn’t choose the 8K version. Instead. I wonder why. The QNED91 4K option is also available in an 86-inch model and is priced at AU$8,399.
You can only guess why the QNED 968K is more affordable than the QNED 998K, but the QNED 91 4K has a slightly lower end α7 (alpha) Gen4 AI processor than the 8K α9 (alpha) Gen4 AI processor. I know the model.
Working with LG’s webOS 6.0 interface and paired with the 2021 Magic Remote, LG’s QNED Mini LED TV series can be pre-ordered from major Australian electronics retailers.
