(Reuters) – Facebook Inc said on Wednesday it has appointed Nicola Mendelzon as the new head of a global business group that oversees the social media companies’ giant advertising business.

Mendelson has been holding that role temporarily since June, after former advertising chief Carolyn Everson left. She was previously the Vice President of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The news leaked thousands of internal documents that were the basis of a Wall Street Journal investigation after whistleblowers testified in the US Senate last week that Instagram caused mental health damage to teens. After the reveal, it was time for Facebook’s turmoil.

According to Facebook, Mendelson, who lives in London, will move to New York.
