(Reuters) – Facebook Inc said on Friday that some users had apps and some users had an error during routine maintenance of the data center network that caused the social media giant a six-hour failure. I have confirmed that I cannot access the service.
Some users couldn’t load the Instagram feed, while others couldn’t message with Facebook Sanger.
“We know that some people have problems accessing our apps and products. Facebook tweeted https://twitter.com/Facebook/status/1446556732977778695 to get things done as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
People immediately took to Twitter and shared a meme about the other Instagram mess this week.
Web monitoring group Downdetector showed on Friday that there were more than 36,000 cases of people reporting problems with the photo-sharing platform Instagram. More than 800 issues have been reported on Facebook’s messaging platform.
DownDetector tracks outages simply by aggregating status reports from a set of sources such as user-submitted errors on the platform. The outage may have affected more users.
The Monday outage was the biggest downdetector ever, blocking access to apps for billions of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users.
