Facebook is one of the first social media platforms to exist today (yes, MySpace doesn’t count), so it’s a long way to go far ahead of its competitors. The platform is constantly adding new features, and with a new shift in audio content, the company is currently aiming to become the biggest player in this space. Starting today, Facebook has announced the launch of an “Audio” hub for all audio-related products in the United States.
This includes podcasts, live audio rooms, and short format audio. The company was releasing this tab for users above 18 years of age, but it has been officially released today.
Facebook has long considered adding audio-related features to its platform, such as podcasts, which have become one of the best gems of companies like Spotify. With more and more users using content formats every day, Facebook is considering bringing podcasts to its main app and bringing the feature to its US user base this summer. We will be adding regions to this list soon.
We are also working on a live audio room. It is a clubhouse-like service. Clubhouse became an overnight sensation in the social media space, prompting adaptations to other platforms. Twitter, one of Facebook’s biggest rivals, has been added Location On that app and the Live Audio Room earlier this year, this is how Facebook tries to level the competition. According to the company, it has already been adopted by creators such as Lil Bone, Noah, Miley Cyrus, quarterback Russell Wilson, singer Becky G, comedian Sherry Cola and Mereba Music. In addition, it will soon be introduced to more public figures and creators outside the United States, as well as to non-US-based Facebook groups.
Last but not least, audio-based TikTok like Soundbite has been in testing for some time and will be offered to more people in the United States in the coming weeks.
With so many audio-related features, the company wants to give users an opportunity to enjoy all these different types of content in one place.[オーディオ]A tab will appear. This will allow creators to better interact with their target audience and make it easier to find audio-related features.
According to the company, during the rollout, this tab shows the content of the accounts that users are following. However, like almost all other Facebook-related content types, over time you’ll see personalized content based on your listening habits.
