(Reuters) – Twitter Inc said on Tuesday there were no indications that the Twitter account of US Congressman Maxine Waters had been hacked, after claiming that a previous tweet sent from a US Democratic verified profile had removed the account. was given. told.

Some Twitter users enjoyed this strange situation and pointed out that the tweets came from a confirmed account that still exists on the site.
A Twitter spokesperson declined to comment on Waters’ tweet, but “as a standard, we are in open communication with his office and working with him to ensure that his accounts are secure. At this time, there are no signs of account breach.”
Waters, chairman of the US House of Representatives Financial Services Commission, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
