DoorDash and Grubhub pull with regulators after pandemic boosts sales

America’s biggest food-delivery app is fighting with regulators in its top markets, escalating the battle over how restaurants and consumers should be charged after the pandemic caused changes to their platforms.

DoorDash Inc., Grubhub Inc. and Uber Technologies Inc. sued New York City late Thursday, seeking to permanently limit the city’s decision to charge restaurants “unconstitutional, harmful and unnecessary.” DoorDash and Grubhub sued San Francisco in July after the city imposed a similar limit.
