An emergency landing at LaGuardia Airport triggered a significant response from fire and police stations on Saturday afternoon.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that Republic Airways Flight 4817 landed safely in Queenstown at around 3 p.m. after a “safety incident”. The agency said all passengers made it to the plane safely.
A spokesman for the Port Authority told NBC New York that the plane made an emergency landing after a passenger reported suspicious activity by someone. I was not immediately aware of the details of the operation.
A spokesman confirmed there were “no signs” of a major threat to the aircraft. The pilot of the plane called in an emergency and was ready to respond as soon as the plane landed at the airport.
According to the FAA, Flight 4817 took off from Indianapolis for LaGuardia.
There was no immediate report of any injuries by the response agency.
